You're Not Supposed to Tell Me...

"Victor," I called.

"Yeah?" he replied.

"Where are you?"

"In the bedroom."

"What are you doing?"

"Hiding from you."

"Okay."  A pause.  "Do you want me to come and find you?"  No answer.  He's getting better.  "I take that as a yes," I said as I climbed the stairs...

  1. No giggling? 'Cause that's usually the giveaway at our house.

  4. Your blog has me smiling from ear to ear! I long to see the grandkids. I wonder how many times I called "Rick", many of those times I had wooden spoon in my hand! You see in the 70s a swat on the behind was still permitted. Then a flash hit me, you would NEVER have answered if you knew there was a reason for my call!!! Vic is no dummy, he just likes to play hide and seek!

  5. We watched Bill Cosby- Himself with the kids last night. The whole bedtime routine had us cracking up.

"Father you don't understand. We cannot sleep at night unless we get a good beating!"

    That and the chocolate cake.

And for the record, I'm pretty sure I earned most of those swats. Although I still don't like to cook with a wooden spoon for some reason ;-)

  7. Yeah. I would have pretended to not be able to find him for a while. That's always a good way to get 10 minutes of quiet. But I'm the one who was looking for him in the first place this time, so I didn't have the extra time.
