Race Day

It's 6am. I am up and dressed, sipping coffee and eating a bagel. Well, I was doing that. Right now I'm typing.

My wife and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary by running a half marathon. That's 13.1 miles. The race starts in 1 hr 43 minutes. It's 45 degrees out, should get into the 50's. Clear with a chance of scattered showers. Little to no wind.

Should be a good race.

My goal is to finish, time is absolutely not of the essence!

I'll be back tonight for a post-race report.

Good luck on the run...

Have a great run! And when you're finished drink lots of beer. It's absolutely the most critical part of being a successful distance runner. I think it's the carbs.

What a great way to celebrate an anniversary. I could never talk my own dear hubby into tackling distance with me but he always cheers for me. And more importantly...massages my feet! (After they're showered, of course.)

I'll put up a post a little later today...

Congrats, Rick! You got back before I could even get online. That's an accomplishment! Happy Anniversary too!

Thanks Davin. We had no reason to stick around afterwards. My son has a soccer game this afternoon. Standing on the sidelines for an hour is going hurt!

I'm an assistant coach, so I don't get the luxury of a lawn chair. I really don't mind, though. The team is doing well (4-0 so far for the season) and Max loves the game, so it's great to watch him play.

Congratulations--anniversary- and run-wise. :) What a great way to celebrate, I agree.

Finishing, that is the main goal. A good goal. Congrats, and here's hoping that you two have many more good years!

wow! I am totally jealous and if my knees weren't shot from ten years of competitive gymnastics, I would THINK about running.....
