Amazing Sand Artist

So you know I like sand art.  I try my hand at it every year at the beach.  I'm getting better with each attempt, learning to sculpt with more detail and getting more creative with my subject matter, but this morning I saw a video that takes it to a whole different level.  I doubt I'll ever attempt this grand of a scale, but it's inspiring to see someone pull off a picture using such a large piece of beach as canvas...

This fellow is amazing. His perspective, circles, movements display a talent I missed when the good Lord passed out creative genes. I can't draw a circle on paper, my attempt of drawing a dog would make the cave men laugh!

Amazing. It takes a special kind of dedication to create something that beautiful and know that it will be gone with the next tide, or rain, or whatever. You can't save it or sell it. It's truly art for art's sake.

If I could make art like that, I'd visit a beach all the time.

He must have a very wide attention span. I would get bored after 5 minutes and kick the sand in the air instead.

He has a special gift to be able to see the whole picture when he's only working on a tiny portion of it.

The one with the lady's face is really amazing, with the detailed shading around her chin and neck.

Absolutely gorgeous work! I'm impressed with his ability to do that so geometrically perfect while on the ground. It's funny but I just ran into a group of people making labyrinths in the sand and did a post on it!

Tricia- There must be something in the air compelling people to work with sand!

That was a pleasure to watch. Thanks for the link, Rick.

Ephemeral Art survives in the mind of the creator and his audience. And now, on Youtube.

Happy Halloween!

Thanks DG. I love seeing a true artist. Laurel put is best in calling "art for art's sake."

The world needs more of it!
