Piano Talk, Continued

More Piano Talk for this week!

When the piano teacher was explaining sharps and flats to my younger son, he used a flat tire as an example:

"...So a flat note is going down, like air going out of a tire.  Now what do you think sharp is?"

To which my budding young Beethoven replied: "Putting air back in the tire?"

If you're going to use a real-world analogy for an abstract system, be prepared for real-world expectations. Your kid's too smart for his teacher. Be afraid when he gets older.

I'm already afraid. Plus he's cute...and he knows it. Verrrry dangerous.

Some say the glass is half-empty. Others say the glass is half-full. I notice the glass is actually made of plastic and call it a cup.
