Nucking Futs

I did it.

It wasn't terrible during the run. It was sunny and warm enough to run in shorts and a t-shirt. Around mile 6 I started wondering where those endorphins are that I always heard about, and the "runner's high."

It turns out that the endorphins really kick in after you stop. I felt fine yesterday afternoon. But endorphins don't last that long. I was hoping they would go for at least a week, until I do my 10 mile run, instead they made it until 10pm and then bailed on me.

This morning I am dealing with the challenge of walking. My toes and my knees are very, very mad at me.

Congrats! I've heard about those enodrphins. Maybe they'll arrive during the run once you are doing your ten-milers. I think it's worthing pushing yourself just to find out.

You must feel great though. I love the feeling of being sore because my body has done something so incredible. Congrats!!!

I'm starting to loosen up a little. 3 miles tomorrow, rest, 5 miles, 3 miles, rest, 10 miles.

I better get some damn endorphins!

But really, I'm enjoying the challenge. It's just fun to complain sometimes, and this act of lunacy is such an easy target.

I deal with the challenge of walking every day. Sadly it doesn't follow a day of running or exercise for that matter. :)

Endorphins ARE what helped me run on a sprained ankle during my first 5k (heard the 'snap' in the first 25 feet and had strained it the week prior). They (endorphins) pretty much stayed "active" until the drive home when I was writhing in agonizing pain. They were totally gone for the next two weeks on crutches.

I was poppin' advil like Pez.

Actually to tell you the truth...I'm not sure it was so much endorphins as it was stupidity...because I remember crying while I was running it hurt so bad. (And why didn't I stop you ask? Because I'm not a quitter! I'd rather be a Dolt than a quitter...lol)

Man, I hope you got an extra apple or banana when you finished that race. I've never had that happen to me, but if it did I'm pretty sure I would lay down right there and scream MEDIC!

You must post after-race photos!
